Euan Anderson has been piping for over 40 years. During that time he has amassed vast experience that allows him to provide a bespoke bagpipe service tailored to meet your event requirements.
Educated at George Heriot's school in Edinburgh, he was initially taught pipes there by Jack Crichton. He also went to P/M David Aitken, BEM, for tuition at the Army School of Pipes and Drums.
After he left school, Euan joined the Royal Bank of Scotland, where he worked at the Head Office at St Andrews Square, Edinburgh. He moved on to join Lothian and Borders Police, giving 33 years dedicated service.
In 2014, he retired from Police Scotland as Detective Inspector in charge of Intelligence gathering and dissemination.
In the early 90’s, Euan was a member of the Drambuie Kirkliston pipe band and in 1996 joined the world famous Lothian and Borders Police pipe band, (Edinburgh City Police Pipe Band) where he was the Pipe Sergeant for several years.
Euan subsequently moved to the Pipeband Club (formerly The Bandclub) who are based in Sydney, competing with them in Scotland, Australia and New Zealand. During that period, the band were promoted to Grade 1 and won the Australian and South Seas Championships on 3 occasions.
Last season Euan had a few tunes with Grade 1 Peoples Ford Boghall and Bathgate Pipe Band, playing at the Bucksburn and District annual concert in Aberdeen.
Further ties to the piping world include a heavy association with The Eagle Pipers' Society, based at The Scots Guards Association Club, Haymarket Terrace, Edinburgh. The Society is open to all pipers of any standard and meetings are held every second Tuesday. Euan is the current Honorary Pipe Major of the Society. Euan is a member of the Piobaireachd Society, the Solo Piping Judges Association and acts as a trustee of the Captain John MacLellan Memorial Trust.
